• Powersoft s.r.l. has developed a completely new circuit technology that combines pulse width modulation (PWM) with load-independent output filters. Compared to conventional amplifiers, this technology offers high efficiency and delivers more power to the speakers with significantly less heat generation. This high level of efficiency allows housing dimensions, weight and power consumption to be reduced. DIGAM power amplifiers work with a typical efficiency of 95% and therefore only lose 5% of the primary energy in the form of heat. The efficiency is almost independent of the output level, while conventional power amplifiers only achieve their greatest efficiency at full load. Since common music signals have an average energy density of approx. 40%, conventional power amplifiers generate up to 10 times as much heat loss as DIGAM devices with the same output power.
